CynergisTek’s Mac McMillan to Present at Mid Central and Gulf Coast HCCA Regional Conferences

We are excited to have the opportunity to speak at two upcoming HCCA regional events. CynergisTek CEO Mac McMillan will be presenting and participating in a round table discussion at the Mid Central Regional Event in Louisville, Kentucky, and presenting at the Gulf Coast Regional Event in Houston, Texas.

 


HCCA Mid Central Regional Conference

“Top 10 Security Concerns for Healthcare IT”

When: 8:30 am – 9:30 am, Friday November 7th

Where: Marriott Louisville East

In this presentation, McMillan will address some of the biggest challenges to privacy and security, new and emerging threats and other hot topics in the industry. He will also provide some guidance on how to overcome these obstacles. Session objectives include:

  • Top 10 security concerns that exist for healthcare provider organizations today
  • Strategies for mitigating the risks associated with the top 10 security concerns that exist for healthcare provider organizations today
  • Assess specific organization’s risk and determine the appropriate course of action

Title: “Round Table Discussion – Hospital/Privacy & Security/Compliance Hot Topics”

When: 12:30 pm – 1:30 pm, Friday November 7th

McMillan, along with several other speakers, will be part of a roundtable lunch. This roundtable will be an open forum for attendees to ask speakers any questions related to compliance, security and privacy.

HCCA Gulf Coast Regional Conference

“HIT Outlook: Enforcement, Audits and Emerging Threats”

When: 3:30 pm – 4:30 pm, Friday December 12th

Where: Houston Marriott West Loop by the Galleria

In this presentation, McMillan will highlight some recent enforcement activities and review why enforcement was the appropriate action. He will then discuss what is expected of OCR’s random compliance audits that are about to resume. Session objectives include:

  • Review current enforcement activities by multiple branches of HHS and FTC
  • Details of Phase Two of OCR’s Audit Program and share best practice strategies that provider organizations and their business associates can leverage to be prepared
  • Discuss current and emerging industry challenges, including risks and regulations that affect security program development and management
