Mac McMillan is CEO and cofounder of CynergisTek, Inc., a firm specialized in information security and regulatory compliance in healthcare. He is Chair of the HIMSS (pronounced “hims”) Privacy & Security Policy Task Force and brings nearly 40 years of experience from Government and private sector positions. He has worked in the healthcare industry since his retirement from the government and contributes regularly to thought leadership around compliance, security and privacy in healthcare. He currently sits on several industry advisory boards including CHIME, AEHIS (ay-hiss), and Healthcare Most Wired, as well as on the HealthInfoSecurity.com editorial advisory board.
Jay Adams serves as the Director of Information Security with Tallahassee Memorial Healthcare in Tallahassee, Florida. He has worked in the healthcare space for over 8 years with a focus on information security and the HIPAA security rule, and he is working to address the HIPAA security rule in a manner that improves workflow efficiency and reduces risk. Prior to working in the healthcare industry, Jay was a network administrator/security engineer to the State of Florida Agency for Workforce Innovation. He has over 18 years of experience in the information technology industry with a focus on information security. Jay is a certified CISSP and HCISPP professional.
Clayton Gouard servers as an Information Security Consultant at CynergisTek where he specializes in identifying technical security gaps that could lead to a security incident. He developed CynergisTek’s social engineering programs and launched its phishing assessment program, through which he has helped train thousands of healthcare employees on how to identify a phishing email. Gouard has also participated in numerous technical assessments to ensure compliance with HIPAA regulations, helped healthcare providers develop effective information security programs and enhanced overall security posture. Prior to CynergisTek, Gouard served in the United States Army. He holds a Bachelor’s of Science in Information Systems from the University of Texas at Arlington.
